Rocks and Minerals: We have begun our unit on rocks and minerals with some process lessons on observing. We observed apples and wrote powerful descriptions about the inside and outside of each. This week we will begin observing bags of rocks and minerals and then we will begin a series of tests that geologists perform on minerals to determine the identity of mystery minerals.

One of my goals this year is to become more technologically proficient myself and then use that proficiency to pass along to my students. This is my first effort at a classroom blog and it is my hope that this will replace my Friday newsletter. Each week I will post updates about the class and each area in which I teach.
